Adult-led or Child-led?
At Eden Early Years, we believe that every child deserves a learning environment where they can explore, discover, and grow. That’s why we use a balanced approach of both child-led and adult-led activities in our preschool room. Each method has unique benefits, and together they create a rich learning experience tailored to the needs of every child.
In our preschool room, we incorporate two fully adult-led activities each day, alongside 3 hours of child-led activities, giving children the freedom to explore their interests. During child-led activities, an adult is always present to observe, engage, and build upon their play, ensuring every learning opportunity is maximised.

During child-led activities, our educators are always present, not just as supervisors but as active participants in the play. By observing the children’s interests, our teachers can build on their play and introduce new ideas or challenges that extend their thinking. Our blend of child-led and adult-led activities ensures that every child has the opportunity to explore their creativity, develop essential skills, and receive the guidance they need to thrive.
